Pattern and all supplies required to complete sweater
PRE-HOMEWORK: Please have completed before first class.
Gauge swatch: Please ensure your gauge swatch is at least 10cm (4”). Write down your gauge BEFORE you wash and AFTER. The AFTER gauge is the correct gauge for the pattern.
To complete a gauge swatch for this pattern, c/o 20-25 stitches using the suggested needle for the pattern you’ve chosen. Knit in stockinette until swatch is more than 10cm (4”) tall. b/o, loosely. MEASURE 10cm (4”) of stitches and count the number of stitches in that area. WRITE IT DOWN. Soak your completed swatch in tepid or cool water with a little wool wash for 5 minutes and gently squeeze out the excess water. Lay flat to dry, being careful not to stretch out the knitting. Measure as before and write down the new gauge. If it is correct, awesome. Come to class with your gauge swatch, your numbers written down and the materials listed below. If it is too small (i.e. Too many stitches per 10cm (4”), then go up a needle size and try again. If there are too few stitches, go down a needle size and try again. Make sure you bring both needle sizes to class.
